Retaining Wall Construction
Engineered retaining wall systems for grade separation, erosion control, and site development.
Scope of Work
Our retaining wall construction capabilities include segmental block systems, cast-in-place concrete walls, and mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) systems. We install walls from engineering plans provided by structural engineers and geotechnical consultants.
Installation includes excavation, foundation preparation, drainage system installation, wall construction, and backfill placement. Geogrid reinforcement is integrated into MSE and tall block wall systems per engineering requirements.
Typical Project Types
- Highway and roadway grade separation walls
- Commercial site retaining walls
- Railroad corridor walls
- Bridge abutment and wing walls
- Tiered wall systems for steep slopes
- Erosion control and slope stabilization
- Sound barrier walls
Safety and Compliance Considerations
Wall construction follows approved engineering plans with structural calculations sealed by licensed professional engineers. Foundation bearing capacity is verified through geotechnical investigation and testing.
Drainage systems behind walls include perforated pipe, filter fabric, and free-draining aggregate to prevent hydrostatic pressure buildup. Outlet pipes are provided to direct collected water away from wall structures.
Block wall installation follows manufacturer specifications for setback, base preparation, and cap placement. MSE wall installations are inspected for geogrid placement, soil lift thickness, and compaction.
